Sergi Roberto: 'It's important to finish top of the group'

The FC Barcelona player emphasised in a pre-match press conference that "Inter like to have the ball and will feel stronger at home, but we will go for it"

Sergi Roberto spoke to the media ahead of FC Barcelona's away game in the Champions League against Internazionale, and gave his thoughts on the second encounter this season with the Italian side.

Topping the group

“We know that if we win, we will be first in our group. We will go out there keen to have a great game; it's always important to win and to place top ahead of the knockout stages, in order to be calmer."

Playing away

“In recent years we've had away games that haven't been so good, but we had a great game at Wembley and tomorrow we will be trying to perform in the same way as against Tottenham.

"We know that Inter like to have the ball, and that's why we always tried to press high in the first game. They will feel stronger at home, but we'll try to ensure that they aren't comfortable. It will be a very close game, but this is one of the matches that is special to play in, at a legendary Champions League stadium."

Life without Messi

“We're happy to have Leo with us, and it's good that he's already back into our dynamic. He's very important for us; he's the best player in the world, so it's obvious that his absence will have a bearing on the team. But we've stepped up without him, shown that we are all here to contribute and we have a great team."

Combining with Luis Suárez

"I have a good understanding with him. I'm very happy with his run of form and I hope that I can continue helping him with assists. I want to help the team, whether that be playing in the midfield or at fullback."
