Yerry Mina could not have dreamed of a better World Cup debut than what happened on Sunday night in Kazan – Colombia beat Poland and it was he who scored the opening goal, heading in a James Rodríguez cross on forty minutes.

After losing to Japan on the opening day, a game that the Barça defender watched from the bench, los cafeteros have revived their hopes with a 3-0 victory (Falcao and Cuadrado scored the others after the break).

The South Americans were rock solid at the back and dominated the game from start to finish.

The result ends Poland's qualification chances, but another win for Colombia (against Senegal on Thursday) would send them into the last sixteen.
