FC Barcelona have lost against Levante 5-4 at the Ciutat de Valencia, bringing to an end their unbeaten run in the league, which will now remain at 43 games. Valverde discussed this in his press conference: “We are frustrated to not finish the league unbeaten but we have to appreciate getting to this point.”

Moreover, Valverde stated: “These records look easy but they aren’t. There are lots of variables, it is normal to have days where things don’t quite work for you and everything goes right for the opposition.” Before adding, “It was a strange game, they were very effective and they punished us with three great counter-attacks.”

The blaugrana coach, also commented: “The reaction from the team was a good one and we were close to getting the draw. If we want to dominate the game we need to control these counter-attacks, it can’t be so open as it is a lottery. We need to take this into account as we have done well at it throughout the season.”

Finally, Valverde added: “We went into the break convinced that we could turn the game around; however, Levante are in great form at the moment and they surprised us at the starts of the second half. We need to give them credit as well.”
