Group D leaders FC Barcelona flew to Lisbon, Portugal Tuesday morning, a day before their UEFA Champions League Matchday 2 encounter with Sporting CP, which is even with Barça on three points but currently occupies second place based on goal differential.

Wednesday night’s kickoff between Barça and Sporting at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon is set for 8.45pm.

Barça’s flight took off from Barcelona-El Prat airport at 11.35am and landed in Lisbon at 1.00pm.

Director Javier Bordas led the Club’s expedition on Tuesday’s flight, which included, in addition to the first team, the Under 19 team, which is set to face Sporting in Matchday 2 of the UEFA Youth League. Upon landing in Lisbon, the Club’s expedition headed to the Lisbon Marriott Hotel.

The first team will go to the Estádio José Alvalade later in the afternoon. Once there, head coach Ernesto Valverde and defender Nelson Semedo will appear before the media at 7.15pm. Then, at 8.00pm, after the press conference, Barça will train on the field in what will be the team's final workout before Wednesday’s match.
