The 2-0 victory at the Estadio de la Cerámica over Villarreal maintains Barça’s five point lead at the top of the table. City rivals Atlético also recorded a victory, Saúl’s goal giving them all three points away at Betis. Diego Simeones’s side stay in third, two points ahead of Real and a point behind Marcelino’s Valencia who remain in second following a 2-1 home win over Celta; Dani Parejo’s penalty sealed the victory for los che with nine minutes of the game remaining.
