Today was the six months to the day when summer signing Ousmane Dembélé suffered a nasty injury against Getafe. And the Frenchman was able to mark the occasion in the best possible way, scoring his first ever goal for his new club, and in the Champions League round of 16 to boot, as he spurred his team into the quarter finals of the competition.

It happened in his twelfth appearance for the Catalans, coming off an assist from the man who’d opened (and would go on to close) the scoring on Wednesday night, Leo Messi.

The Argentinian’s run, after lapping up an error in the Chelsea midfield, was followed by a peach of a ball to Dembélé. And the latter’s delightful strike found the top corner of the net, brushing Belgian stopper Courtois' fingertips on the way.

18th name of the season

That means an extraordinary eighteen different players have found the target for Barça this season. Lionel Messi leads the way with 34, followed by Luis Suárez on 24.
