Aitor Ariño, was the top scorer for Barça with six goals | VICTOR SALGADO - FCB

Six goals from Ariño set the tone for FC Barcelona Lassa’s 36-24 League win against Ángel-Ximénez Avia Puente Genil. Xavi Pascual’s side had to recover from the effort in Mannheim and not think about the Champions League match this weekend against Kristianstad.

Jallouz and Rivera also weighed in with five goals apiece, Barça Lassa taking advantage of their opponent’s slow start to hit them repeatedly on the counterattack.

In the first 10 minutes, the Blaugrana did have Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas to thank after he made six saves, allowing his team to roar into a healthy 6-1 lead. This increased to 12-5 after 21 minutes and, though Ángel-Ximénez began to come more into the game, Barça kept up the breathless pace and ticked the scoreboard along to 18-11 by the break.

At the beginning of the second half, N'Guessan extended the lead still further and with 15 left to play Barça led 28-17. It was at this point that Ángel-Ximénez took the game to the hosts and outscored them in the final passage of play, though it was too little, too late.
