A look at each of the Barça B players joining the St. George’s Park stage

José Suárez, Josep Martínez, Marlon, Martínez, Borja López, Carbonell, Gumbau, Aleñá, Nili, Alfaro, Cámara and Mujica join the English FA training camp

FC Barcelona travel to St. George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, in the United Kingdom on Monday as preparations for the new season continue.

Much of the squad has yet to return from their holidays due to their commitments at the European Championships and the Copa America, apart from Leo Messi, who has cut his vacations short by a week.

Therefore, Luis Enrique has called upon a number of youngsters to join the expedition. Here is a closer look at each of them:

Jose Suárez

The Barça B keeper arrived as a U19 in 2013/14 season in which he won the Division of Honour and the Youth League. During 2014/15 made the jump to Barça B under the orders of Gerard López.

Josep Martínez

He is one of Barca B’s 2016/17 summer signings, arriving from Sevilla Atletico who were competing in the second division and is looking to impress in order to earn a spot under Gerard López.

Marlon

Another new signing for the B team this summer, coming from Fluminense in Brazil. The centre-back joins on loan with an option to buy.

Josep Martínez

The keeper signed for the U19s in July 2015. He played for UD Azira where he caught the eye of various big clubs like Real Madrid, Valencia and Villarreal. He now has the chance to improve around the top names in the business.

Borja López

He is a Barça B player since last year. The defender was snapped up on a free after rescinding his contract with Monaco, after a spell at Arouca in Portugal.

Àlex Carbonell

He began at La Masia as a right full-back. In 2011 he move to Cornella where he played as a midfielder, before returning to Barça at U19 level. As a striker, he played a key role in the Copa Catalunya semi-final against Girona where he scored the goal that took Barça through to the final in minute 84.

Gerard Gumbau

Gumbau arrived from Girona in 2014/15 and made his first team debut on 15 January 2015 against Elche in the Copa del Rey. He has played a total of nine matches for the first team in La Liga, Champions League and cup.  

Carles Aleñá

The midfielder debuted for Barça B last season after impressive at U19 level, especially in the Youth League. Luis Enrique called him up on 10 February this year to the squad for the Copa del Rey semi-final against Valencia despite not featuring.

Francisco José Perdomo ‘Nili’

Another signing for Barça B this season after playing eight times in La Liga for Las Palmas, one of those against Barça. He played in the reserves’ first pre-season game against l’Escala.

Jesús Alfaro

The 25-year-old joins as a summer signing from Alcoia in the second division, where he scored 10 goals. He is known for his versatility across the forward line, which he showed in the friendly against l’Escola in a 6-0 win for Barça B.

Juan Cámara

The midfielder played for Barça B under the orders of Eusebio Sacristán in 2014/15 before moving to Villarreal. In the Barça reserves, he played 50 matches and scored 11 goals.

Rafa Mujica

The 17-year-old centre-forward signed for Barça in 2015. Last season, he caught the eye with his electric pace and precision for the U19s under Gabri. As a Spanish U-17 international, Gerard Lopez has shown his faith in him by calling him up to Barça B on more than one occasion.
