One of the big matchups in this summer's 2016 International Champions Cup, the annual preseason tournament — which, this year runs from 23 July to 13 August — will feature FC Barcelona and Celtic.

The match between the Catalans and the Scots, set for 30 July, was formally presented on Monday on the same pitch where the tilt will be played: Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

FC Barcelona were represented by Edgar Davids, while Celta were represented by Scott Brown, their team captain.

Although he was not at the event, the FC Barcelona's technical secretary, Robert Fernández, said last week that it "could be a very interesting match. Celtic FC are a legendary team and this year they are once again the favourites to win their domestic championship. It will be our debut at the ICC this year and it will be a good test in preparation for the next season against a team that always makes you work hard."

It will be Barça's first game at Aviva Stadium, which opened in 2010 and has a capacity of 51,700. Aviva Stadium has hosted the 2011 UEFA Europa League final, among other matches, as well as various Nations Cup rugby matches. Both the Irish rugby and football national teams play their home games there.

Tickets for Celtic v Barça will be available starting on 3 May through www.ticketmaster.ie.
