Neymar left with the match ball after a stellar showing against Rayo / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

1. Neymar was nothing short of spectacular on Saturday night against Rayo. He scored four of the five goals in an impressive win at the Camp Nou, and also supplied the assist for Suárez to score the other one. It was the first time that the Brazilian had scored what is known locally as a ‘poker’ of goals for FC Barcelona.

2. But it was not the first four-goal display of his career. Playing for Brazil, he got that number in a friendly against Japan in 2014. And he achieved the feat three times for his former club Santos, against Guaraní in the Brazilian Cup of 2010; against Atlético Paranaense in the Brasileirao Championship of 2011, and also against Unión Barbarense in the Paulistao of 2013. He also got four for the Brazil U20 team in 2011.

3. Claudio Bravo was another of the great performers on Saturday night. His passing was exemplary, with 48 in total and an accuracy rate of 77.1%.

Piqué 6
Sergio 5
Mathieu 5
Luis Suárez 4

4. The win was the seventh out of seven for Barça against Rayo since Paco Jémez has been in charge. Those games produced a staggering goalscoring balance of 31-4 in favour of the Catalans.

5. This was the second consecutive game in which Sergio Busquets donned the captain’s armband. The midfielder has played in eight of the eight league games of the season so far, 650 minutes in total, a tally only surpassed by Javier Mascherano (658) and Luis Suárez (657).

6. Sergi Roberto just gets better and better. He started in midfield on Saturday night and did not disappoint. He touched the ball more than any other player 54, won 61.5% of his duels and made 36 good passes..
