Luis Enrique is the fifth coach to begin his spell with two consecutive league titles

Enrique Fernández, Helenio Herrera, Louis Van Gaal and Josep Guardiola are the other four managers who lifted two league championships in their first two seasons in the job

Since his arrival in the summer of 2014, Luis Enrique has enjoyed success after success. After claiming the treble in his first campaign as coach, in his second he has added another three titles to the Club’s collection.

The UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup were won to round off a tremendous 2015 for the blaugranes and now the team has added the 2015/16 league title following the win away at Granada on the final day of the season.

With the victory he becomes the fifth coach in the Club's history to win the league titles twice in his first two campaigns in the post. Enrique Fernández (1947 and 1948), Helenio Herrera (1959 and 1960), Louis Van Gaal (1998 and 1999) and Josep Guardiola (2009 and 2010) are the other members of the exclusive club to which Luis Enrique has now been admitted.

La Liga: the first of a possible double

Winning one of the tightest league title races in recent years comes just a week before the chance to win another trophy. On Sunday 22 May Barça will be competing in the Copa del Rey final in the Vicente Calderón against Sevilla. A 28th victory in the competition would mean the double to round off another highly successful season.
