Hat-trick hero Luis Suárez praises team effort

FC Barcelona are in the final of the Club World Cup in great part thanks to the three goals scored by Luis Suárez against Guangzhou Evergrande and in the International Yokohama Stadium, the Uruguayan lead from the front with both Neymar and Messi missing. “We had two important players out and the only thing we had to do was to be focused and we hope they are back quickly,” he admitted. On the victory the Barça number 9 added: “It is from all the team and all the Club.”

Ahead of the final on Sunday, Suárez commented on the challenge facing the Catalans if they are to take their fifth trophy of the season. “We knew we had a good chance of coming up against River. They have shown one of the top teams in the Americas.”

Andrés Iniesta also gave his views after the game in Yokohama:

“First objective completed, and we are on the verge of another passionate one. We have to give everything to take the trophy home.

“It will depend how they recover in the next few days, let’s hope that Messi and Neymar can be there for the final, they are key players for us.”
