Four possible opponents for FC Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, Benfica and Juventus could be drawn against Barça in the last 16 of the Champions League

With Tuesday's group games in the Champions League now complete, four possible rivals for Barça in the last 16 of the competition are now confirmed. Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, Benfica and Juventus have all finished second in their respective groups, meaning they all have a chance of facing Group E winners FC Barcelona in the draw for the first knock out round which will take place on Monday 14 December in Nyon, Switzerland at 12.00pm CET.

In Group A, PSG's 2-0 win over Shaktar Donetsk confirmed them as runners-up to group winners Real Madrid, the only team to beat Laurent Blanc's side in the initial phase. In Group B, PSV's 2-1 victory over CSKA Moscow, coupled with group winners Wolfsburg's 3-2 triumph over Manchester United was enough to send the Dutch team coached by former blaugrana Philip Cocu into the last 16 as group runners-up.

Group C was decided by Atlético Madrid's 2-1 victory over Benfica in Lisbon. Diego Simeone's team go through as group winners with the Portuguese side as runners-up, putting them in firing line of Luis Enrique's team in the last 16. Finally, Group D saw Juventus go down to a 1-0 defeat against Sevilla, the Italians qualifying as runners-up with Manchester City topping the group thanks to a 4-2 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Massimiliano Allegri's team are now in line for a possible last 16 tie against Barça, the blaugranes having defeated la Vecchia Signora in the final in Berlin last season to claim their fifth title in the competition.

With Wednesday's round of fixtures on match day 6 still to come in the Champions League, we offer you a look at the other teams Barça could possibly face in the last 16 with Groups F,G and H still to be decided:

Group F

Bayern Munich have won the group and Olympiacos are in a strong position to finish second. The Greek champions are currently three points ahead of Arsenal, who they host on the final day. After winning 3-2 at the Emirates in their first meeting, even if they lose that game, Olympiacos still have a good chance of qualifying by virtue of a stronger head-to-head record.

Group G

You might need a calculator handy as this group unfolds. Any of Porto, Chelsea or Dynamo Kyiv could either win the group or finish second. Julen Lopetegui’s Porto and Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea currently lead the way with ten points each. They meet at Stamford Bridge on the final day in what promises to be a gripping game. If Dynamo Kyiv beat Maccabi Tel Aviv, then the Ukrainians will be guaranteed one of the top two places regardless of events in London – so Chelsea need to win while a draw would suffice for the Portuguese.

Group H

The only team with a 100 per cent record in the competition, Zenit Saint Petersburg, are well clear at the top of a group that hasn’t gone at all as people might have expected. Gent are now in second place, one point ahead of Valencia. The Liga side, who Barça can’t be drawn against, now need to beat bottom-of-the-table Lyon at Mestalla on the final day and hope that Gent don’t spring another surprise by beating Zenit.
