Rakitic was the star of the show in Borisov / MIGUEL RUIZ-FCB

. Brace. Ivan Rakitic was the star of the game, scoring his first ever double in an FC Barcelona shirt, although it was by no means the first of his professional career. For Schalke 04 (2009-10) he once scored twice in a Bundesliga match and for Sevilla he achieved the feat twice in 2012/13 and twice again in 2013/14.

2. Utmost efficiency. A powerful strike from the edge of the area and a deft flick over the keeper saw Rakitic score from both of his two goals attempts on Tuesday night.

3. Ten goals. Those were the Croatian’s first two goals of the present season, taking his overall tally for Barça up to ten. A substitute for the third time this season, he played 77 minutes and performed brilliantly in the centre of the field and down the right wing, with 68 of his 75 passes finding their target.

4. 4. Five times more shots. Barça had 20 goal attempts in the game, while BATE Borissov only had four. It was a quiet game for Ter Stegen in the Barcelona goal, in which he was rarely put to any kind of serious test.

5. Gerard Gumbau of Barça B got his first 22 minutes of Champions League football on Tuesday night. His fifth outing for the first team was his fourth of the current season and his second in a row.

6.Jordi Alba was the Barça player that made the most passes, and 95 of his total of 108 were completed.
