The players warm-down after the 6-0 defeat of Athletic / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

The FC Barcelona first team got straight back to the training ground on Monday morning, the day after impressively trouncing Athletic Bilbao 6-0 in the league. That’s because there is no time to rest, with the second of the trilogy of games against the Basques coming up on Wednesday, this time in the Copa del Rey.

Temperatures are set to drop in Barcelona this week, but the sun did pop out from among the clouds now and again on a chilly morning on the Tito Vilanova field at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, where Luis Enrique used the session to get his players going through the recovery drill after Sunday’s exertions.

Jordi Alba was absent after pulling his right hamstring last night and being replaced by Bartra in the second half. The full-back is expected to be out of action for about ten days.

The team doctors were also able to take a closer look at Leo Messi’s leg, and the good news is that there is no sign of injury. It’s not certain how long the Argentinian will be out, but thankfully it doesn’t look like it’s going to be very long.
