FC Barcelona to face Sevilla in Copa del Rey final

The Andalusians saw off the threat of Celta Vigo in the semi-finals to set up a showdown with the Catalans on 21 May

Sevilla will be FC Barcelona’s opponent in the 2016 Copa del Rey final, after the Andalusians confirmed their place in the big showdown with a 6-2 aggregate win over Celta Vigo.

A 4-0 home win last week, along with a 2-2 draw at Balaídos on Thursday, saw Unai Emery's men convincingly through to the final which is set to take place on 21 May.

Luis Enrique's side need no reminding of the threat that Sevilla pose, as they were the last team to inflict defeat on the Catalans back in October by a 2-1 scoreline at Sanchez Pizjuan.

The pair also met in last summer’s enthralling European Super Cup in Tbilisi. Barça’s men came out 5-4 winners thanks to Pedro’s winner in extra-time.

Before the Copa del Rey final, the pair will meet once more in Week 26 of La Liga at Camp Nou on 28 February.
