Leo Messi poses with all five of his Ballons d'Or. / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

Everyone on hand at FC Barcelona's next match at Camp Nou, set for Sunday night at 8.30pm versus Athletic Club Bilbao, will get quite a treat. Actually, they'll be able to witness an event the likes of which has never before been seen. Nor is it likely to ever be repeated.

Lionel Messi, who on Monday was named the world's best player and thus received the Ballon d'Or — for the fifth time — will offer the trophy up to the crowd prior to kick off.

Almost a hundred thousand mobile phones will flash. Some will be snapping photos, some will be recording videos. But all of them will be capturing the moment of a lifetime.
