St.George's Park will once again host FC Barcelona’s first team in the preseason, repeating the experience of the 2014/2015 season, Luis Enrique’s first on the Barça bench. This year the team will be there between 25 and 30 July and, once their stay is finished, the expedition will travel directly to Dublin, Ireland to open their preseason schedule on 30 July against Celtic Glasgow, their first game in this summer’s International Champions Cup.

St. George's Park is a footballing centre run by the FA and is located near Birmingham in central England. It serves as the training centre for 24 English teams and also as a football, sports and business development centre. St. George's Park is located on 330 hectares of national forest parkland in England and has state-of-the-art sports facilities specially designed for elite teams.

The sports facilities there include an indoor artificial turf football field with a surface area of 105 m x 68 m; 13 outdoor football fields; a 60-metre athletics track next to the indoor field; a 60 m x 40 m indoor field for sports like football; a specific goalkeepers area; a warm-up area; running area with a 20-degree slope for fitness and conditioning work; five pavilions for briefings and analysis; perform, a sports medicine, performance and research centre, and a 228-room hotel.

Friendlies confirmed

Besides the game to be played in Dublin on 30 July, two more games are already confirmed: one against Leicester at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on 3 August, and another against Liverpool, on 6 August, with the location yet to be decided.

The date of the Joan Gamper Trophy, which once again will be the official presentation of the team for the 2016/17 season, is also pending confirmation.

According to the proposed schedule approved at the last Assembly of the Liga de Futbol Professional (LFP), to be presented to the Spanish Football Federation, the League would start on 21 August.
