This Sunday will see FC Barcelona go for their 28th Copa del Rey title against Sevilla at the Vicente Calderon.

In what promises to be another glorious night for the club, where heroes can be made with a single moment of magic, we take a look at past finals where certain individuals forever embedded themselves in the memory of the Barça faithful with a goal for the ages.

From goals such Chus Pereda’s against Zaragoza in 1963 or Marcos Alonso’s in 1983 at La Romareda, all the way up to Yaya Toure’s solo run followed by a thunderbolt against Athletic Club in 2009, Barça’s finals tend to contain a sensational strike.

No countdown of great strikes exists without the name of Leo Messi, and in the most recent cup final, the Argentine marked it with a quite outstanding dribble from the halfway line all the way to the penalty box before unleashing a powerful low strike beyond the Athletic keeper.

The full list will bring back some fine memories, as well as some you may not have seen but nevertheless had a big impact on the history of the club.
