Halilovic, Montoya, Song and Tello were the four players loaned out by Barça / Muntatge FCB

The 2015/16 season has come to a close and the four players loaned out by FC Barcelona - Alen Halilović, Cristian Tello, Martin Montoya and Alex Song – have concluded their spells away from the club.

The player who benefited the most from his loan was Croatian midfielder Halilović, who spent the last season under the guidance of former Barça man Abelardo at Sporting Gijón.

The youngster played 36 out of the 38 league matches, of which he started 24 and made 12 appearances from the bench. Halilović played 2,347 minutes and showed his wonderful creativity as he helped Sporting survive relegation.

Montoya and Tello change teams

Montoya was loaned to Inter Milan last summer, but returned to Spain in January to play for Real Betis. The full-back was not given much of a chance for the Italians and therefore moved to Betis where he played 13 times as a starter, either as a right-back or on the opposite side.

Tello also changed teams midway through the season. In his second year on loan at Porto, the winger did not feature as much as he did in the first, playing just ten times, and therefore switched to Italian club Fiorentina where he was an important first team player. Tello featured in 13 matches, 12 as a starter, scoring two goals and making three assists.

Song had the fewest opportunities of those who went out on loan. The Cameroonian, at West Ham, missed the first two months of the season through injury and was unable to establish himself in the first team, featuring just 12 times over the course of the campaign.
