Robert Fernández discusses his new position at a Thursday press conference / MIGUEL RUIZ-FCB

The Ricard Maxenchs pressroom in the Camp Nou was the venue on Thursday for the official announcement of the complete organigram for the football section at FC Barcelona. Vice-president for sport Jordi Mestre revealed the names of the people that will be playing different roles in the new 2015/16 season.

Jordi Mestre will be joined by other board members at the helm of the football structure, namely Javier Bordas (first team), Silvio Elías (professional football academy), Xavier Vilajoana (amateur football academy) and Jordi Monés (sport science).

These will be joined by the following executives: Albert Soler as director of professional sports, Raul Sanllehí, as director of football, Ariedo Braida as international advisor and his homologue on a national level, Carles Rexach.

Technical secretary

The biggest change is the incorporation of Robert Fernández as first team technical secretary. Pep Segura is the technical secretary of the professional football academy, which consists of Barça B, managed by Gerard López, and the U18 A and B teams coached by Gabri and Quique Álvarez.

The amateur football academy is being directed by Jordi Roura, assisted by Aureli Altimira. The women’s team will continue to be coached by Xavi Llorens.

Support areas

A number of people will be playing complementary roles as part of the football structure. Of particular note are those responsible for sport science (Ramon Canal), scouting (Pep Boada), methodology (Paco Seirul·lo and Joan Vilà), football management (Josep Llorca), education and knowledge; Masia 360º (Pere Gratacós) and La Masia (Carles Folguera).

Apart from the professional teams, there are also fourteen teams in the lower age groups from pre-U10 through to U16.
