Celta are second top scorers in La Liga with 10 goals / LA LIGA

“They are one of the most entertaining teams to watch, not just in Spain but in Europe. It doesn’t matter who they are playing against, they play the same way, with attacking players and an attacking mentality.” That was how Luis Enrique described his former team ahead of Barça’s trip to take on Celta Vigo on Wednesday in Balaídos at 8.00pm CET. After a start to the season in which the blaugranes have claimed victory in their first four league games of the season, Luis Enrique’s are aiming to make it five out of five against a side who will not make it easy.

Eduardo Berizzo’s Celta side come into the clash with Barça in the Champions League places in the table and have been one of the revelations of the campaign so far. The Argentinian coach has brought in an attacking philosophy at the club with players who are happy playing a high tempo, one touch passing game, an approach which has brought them great success in 2015/16.

Celta’s numbers

In four games so far this valiant approach from the Galicians has earned them 10 points from a possible 12. They have won against Levante, Rayo and Sevilla and picked up a point against Las Palmas. Berizzo’s team kept a clean sheet against Rayo, conceded just once against Levante and Sevilla but then conceded three times in the draw with Las Palmas. Going forward, Celta have now managed to find the net in their last 13 league matches.

Without doubt, in attack the outstanding figure is that of Manuel Agudo ‘Nolito’ who alongside Iago Aspas and Orellana forms a potent from three. The FC Barcelona man has scored four league goals so far this season and sits in second place in the goalscoring table at the moment. In terms of goals Celta have found the net ten times so far in the campaign, the same number as Villarreal and just two behind top scorers Real Madrid.
