The players trained at St. George's Park two years ago - MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

On Monday, it was announced that FC Barcelona would be returning to St. George’s Park during this summer’s pre-season from 25 to 30 July.

The team thoroughly enjoyed their time at the English Football Association’s complex back in 2014, Luis Enrique’s first pre-season as manager.

From then on, the team went on to record a historic season, earning the second treble of the club’s history. Below is an inside look at the last time Barça trained in Birmingham:

The start of the team's stay in England

Day 1 - 28/07/14

Barça completed their first day at the training camp in England. It was an intense day, which saw the team depart from Barcelona and arrive in Birmingham two hours later. The team then trained in St. George’s Park. It was the first session with all three of the new keepers for the 2014/15 season: Ter Stegen, Bravo and Masip.

First double session

Day 2 - 29/07/14

The second day of Barça’s training camp in Birmingham included two intense training sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Ivan Rakitic held a press conference after the first session.

No rest for the best

Day 3 - 30/07/14

Barça’s third day at St. George’s Park was marked by a single session, which took place in the morning. The session saw a very active Luis Enrique intensely manage the team.

Day 4 - 31/07/14

The FC Barcelona players trained twice on Thursday at St George’s Park, and in between, Gerard Piqué gave a press conference.

Day 5 - 01/08/14

Barça’s last day at St George’s Park included a morning training session, which ended, as our video shows, with a peculiar penalty shootout involving Jordi Alba and Rafinha.
