Speaking at the official presentation of Luis Suárez, Andoni Zubizarreta told reporters that the Uruguayan striker had been at the top of the list when he met Luis Enrique to discuss strengthening the squad.  “We’ve been following him for the last two years”.

“He can play as a lone striker or a bit further back and wide.  He’s got goals and combines well.  He’s competitive and gives us options in attack”.

Finally, Zubizarreta spoke about next Tuesday’s FIFA hearing in Zurich regarding the fine imposed on the Club in relation to young players.  “We will explain that our priority has always been young people and their training.  We’ll answer their questions knowing that our only intention is to mould people into footballers.  We’re leaders in this area”.
