The Barça first team returned to training on Thursday morning after drawing 0-0 with Malaga the night before, and there was good news waiting for Luis Enrique. New signing Thomas Vermaelen has been declared fully recovered from the hamstring injury that has kept him side-lined since playing for Belgium at the Brazil World Cup.

On Wednesday, he played 63 minutes of Barça B’s friendly with Indonesia U19, and looked more than comfortable with the experience. In fact, it was him who scored the first goal of the 6-0 win.

Goalkeeper Jordi Masip was also present at the Ciutat Esportiva, but worked out separately as he continues his rehabilitation after fracturing a finger.

Luis Enrique was missing Rafinha and Jordi Alba, who both did specific activities, as well as Douglas, who has gone down with a fever after making his Barça first team debut last night against Malaga. Today’s session also involved three reserve team players, namely Ondoa, Munir and Sandro.
