Tribute to Henry

Thierry Henry, who played at Barça between 2007 and 2010 and has been starring with the New York Red Bulls in the MLS, announced his retirement from the game on Tuesday. The French striker won a host of titles with Barça, most notably the 2009 Champions League as well as two Spanish League titles, a World Club Cup, a Spanish Cup and both the Spanish and European Super Cups.

In his first season at the Club, he was leading scorer with 19 goals and played 30 league matches under Frank Rijkaard – mostly on the left of the Barça attack.

In the 2008/09 campaign - Josep Guardiola’s first season – Henry scored 26 goals in 42 games and played a key part in the treble winning side which swept all before it to take six titles in the 2009 calendar year.

In his final year at the Club, Henry scored 4 times and played 32 games in a campaign when he claimed yet another league winners medal.

In all, Thierry Henry played 121 official games for the Club, bagging 49 goals including two hat tricks (against Levante and Valencia) and of course his two goals in the famous 2-6 win at the Bernabeu.. Merci, Henry!
