There is huge media interest in Wednesday's UCL clash / Victor Salgado FCB

The high profile game on Wednesday night between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain at the Camp Nou has attracted plenty of French reporters to the city. The two clubs are going into battle for top place in the group in what Pierre Menes (Canal Plus) describes as “an important match but not a decisive match … The fans are going to see a prestigious match in which some good football is going to be played.”

Men of the match

There is considerable disagreement among the press as to who the standout players are likely to be this evening. Naturally, the names of Ibrahimovic and Messi are in everyone’s mouth, but "the Paris centre backs and Sirigu will also have something to say” says L’Equipe correspondent Lionel Dangoumau.

"This is an enormous challenge for Paris” says Loic Briley (RMC Sport). “They need to confirm themselves after the win at the Parc des Princes.” He’s supported here by François Clauss (Europa 1), who adds that “a good result would send a big message out to the rest of Europe.”

Fred Traini (Canal Plus) insists that there’s nobody in the FC Barcelona line-up to match Lionel Messi, who “is always the key man for Barça". Henry Laguérie (Europa 1), however, has a feeling that this could be the moment for Suárez, because “the Argentinian striker has never done very well against PSG.”
