On a cold Sunday, Barça managed to twice overcome one-goal deficits to Villarreal to win 3–2. One of the keys was Rafinha Alcántara, who was involved with Neymar's first goal, and then scored one himself — his first goal in the league —in the second half to tie the game at 2–2..

"We knew that Villarreal were very strong; we knew it was going to be a difficult game, but we also gave everything to come back and get the three points," he said after the final whistle.

Rafinha was the big surprise in the starting eleven, his sixth game as a starter in the league. "Getting minutes is important to me; I give everything because it isn't easy to crack the starting lineup."

But he emphasised that the team came first. "The goals were big to tie, then Leo's was even bigger. With Neymar, Messi and Luis Suarez, everything is possible," he remarked.

Rafinha also spoke about the coming Cup semi-final tie against Villarreal. "It will be a tough, just like tonight."

Declarations from Andrés Iniesta and Jordi Alba:

Andrés Iniesta:

"The team is still focused, knowing that every game is important and that we need to keep winning."

"This game was a good test because they went up twice, we had to react and we played well."

"Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we don't. The important thing is that the team is growing in all phases of the game."

"We were able to come back, we moved the ball well for the most part, but the key was going with the right pass at the right moment."

Jordi Alba:

"This wasn't a game that we dominated as we usually do, it was much tougher than usual."

"Villarreal hadn't lost in 18 games, which says that they're very good. The semi-finals will be no easy task."

"As the coach has said, our bench is very deep with excellent players, and there are lots of options."

"Perhaps Suárez is having a tough time finishing, but he was a very good signing and he gives us what we lacked. We have several great attackers now and that makes a difference."
