The Ajax game done and dusted, the Barça players can now focus their minds fully on the Clásico on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu. Luis Enrique took charge of today’s training session with Sergio Busquets among the team despite not yet having been declared fully fit after sitting out last night’s Champions league game with a hip injury.

Adriano was also missing as he did separate exercises on an adjacent part of the pitch, while the injured Douglas and Vermaelen concentrated on their recovery programmes.

The session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper also gave the players the first chance to try out the new yellow winter balls that will be coming into use from next weekend. Barça B’s Munir, Sandro, Samper, Gumbau, Adama and Diagne joined the first team on Wednesday morning, where much of the focus of the session held behind closed doors was on recovery from the previous night’s exertions as the team work to ensure that they are in absolute peak condition for the trip to Real Madrid at the weekend.
