Neymar was delighted with a fine all-round performance from the team / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

Neymar was more than happy with Barça’s performance against Levante on Sunday and also with “this winning run we’re on. We’re in great form and everything feels much easier now. We were able to play the way we like once again.” It was he who opened the scoring after 16 minutes, but asked to explain the strange goal, all he could say was “I don’t know how I hit the ball. I think I was a bit lucky.”

He also denied that he had a point to prove after missing a penalty against Villarreal in the cup semi-final. “It doesn’t matter if I don’t score” he claimed. “Anyway, I got one today. But even if I hadn’t, life goes on.” The Brazilian was replaced by Luis Suárez after 62 minutes, and admitted that “nobody likes being substituted. I always want to play, that’s normal. Any footballer would want to play.”

Rakitic and Bartra also spoke to the press after the final whistle.

“It was a nice all-round game. We worked hard and that’s important. We need to carry on like this.”

“There are 23-24 players in the squad and we all want to play. You don’t notice the changes, and we really enjoyed ourselves out there today.”

“It’s great that Messi is continuing to improve. He’s taken home another match ball today. We love having him in the team and doing everything we can to help him.”

“It’ll be good to get some rest this week. The hardest but nicest part of the season is upon us.”

“This big win is a result of the hard work we do in training. We are feeling fit and are all playing a part in this good run. The most important thing is that we maintain the same level when us less regular players get a game. Or to even improve the level if we can.”

“If the boss needs me, then I’m always ready to answer his call. I need to be ready to help out at any time.”

“When teams come to the Camp Nou we need to suffocate them, put pressure on them and not let them out of their half.”

“I set up Messi’s goal today, but he did the most difficult bit.”
