Brazil clinched a spot in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on Saturday after they defeated Alexis Sánchez and Cluadio Bravo’s Chile in a penalty shootout. The match, however, took a physical toll on the players managed by Luis Felipe Scolari. One of the most affected was Neymar Jr, who finished the game with a knock to his right knee and muscle problems with his left thigh. Two day out from the quarter-final match against Colombia, Neymar Jr is back to optimal fitness.

Neymar Jr’s physical fitness was one of the Scolari’s biggest concerns ahead of Friday’s game. After the day of rest, which was scheduled to after the Round of 16 match against Chile, the Brazilians returned to training in Granja Comary.

Neymar Jr recovers

“I’m recovered,” said the FC Barcelona forward to the press on Wednesday. This Monday, the Brazilian trained in the gym, following a specific recovery program, with the rest of his team-mates; the Brazilian reserves played a friendly against the U20 team from Fluminense.

The Brazilian forward trained on the pitch this Wednesday. Neymar Jr trained with normality and is expected to feature in the upcoming match against Colombia. After the session, Neymar Jr, Dani Alves, Oscar and Bernard stayed behind and practiced free kicks.
