The two record breaking match balls / PHOTO: Facebook Leo Messi

In one magic week, Leo Messi wrote his name in the history books with two more hat tricks, breaking Telmo Zarra’s Spanish League goal scoring record at the Camp Nou against Sevilla and then following that up a few days later with another hat trick in Nicosia to become the all-time leading Champions League scorer.

A few days later, Messi decided to share a special photo with his fans by publishing on his social media pages a photo with the two record breaking match balls, signed by his team mates.

In the global spotlight

The day after breaking the records, Leo Messi was big news in the world’s sporting and general media, who focussed on his historic achievement and he is now also on the front page of the UEFA Champions magazine, which has no doubts in calling him “a genius”.
