Masip makes official first team debut

The Catalan keeper played his first official game for Luis Enrique’s side Masip had played four friendly games for the side this season

[[DES_1]]Jordi Masip made his official debut with the team this evening in the game against Huesca and his appearance means Luis Enrique has used all the squad players at least once so far this season, with the exception of the injured Vermaelen.

Pre-season appearances

The Barça number 25 figured in three of the side’s pre-season friendlies – against Huelva and Helsinki and also for 45 minutes of the Gamper Trophy against Club Leon, as well as in the Catalan Cup Final against Espanyol in November.

Another La Masia product

Jordi Masip joined La Masia at the age of 15 and worked his way up through the various academy and reserve sides to the first team squad. From 2009 to 2014 he played 79 games for Barça B and interestingly, his first coach was Luis Enrique, who has now handed him his first team debut.
