Luis Suárez top goalscorer for the IFFHS

The Uruguayan striker leads the ranking of top goalscorers put together by the IFFHS, together with Cristiano Ronaldo, after scoring 31 goals last season for Liverpool.

The FC Barcelona centre forward has been chosen as the best goalscorer of 2014 by the International Federations of Football History and Statistics from the 10 top scorers around the globe in top flight football. The South American leads the rankings with Cristiano Ronaldo following his 31 goals last season in the Premier League in a Liverpool shirt. It is the second time that  Luis Suárez has been named top scorer as in 2010 he received the accolade when he was still at Ajax. That season in Holland he scored 36 goals for the legendary Dutch side.

Luis Suárez takes over the mantle of Leo Messi who twice was named top goalscorer in 2012 and 2013 having scored 50 goals and 46 goals respectively. This season Leo Messi finds himself in fifth place with a total of 27 goals last season.
