Luis Enrique has won his first two titles disputed as head coach of FC Barcelona. / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

After beating Athletic Club 3–1 on Saturday night at Camp Nou, Luis Enrique is now two for two as head coach of FC Barcelona. But although he is proud of his team’s showing in the Spanish Cup Final, he wants his team to win the treble next weekend against Juventus in the Champions League Final. "We’ve won two titles. Now we want a third. It's nice when you have the opportunity to make so many people happy. We’ll try to reach our objective and make history again," he said.

But before the team starts thinking about Juventus, there is some time to celebrate the most recent victory. Because for Luis Enrique, this one was well-deserved, coming down to a key set of factors: "The was a special game and we played well from the start. Tonight, everything was important. The offensive and defensive intensity, the precision, the enthusiasm of both the team and Leo Messi. We were very serious, very complete, and we neutralised Athletic’s always-dangerous potential."

Here are some other highlights of what Luis Enrique had to say after the match:

On ambition

"We are fortunate to have a group of players and staff like this. They enjoy what they do and enjoy being Barça players."

"It's very tough to stop Leo Messi. He does so because he’s the best player in the world. And when other high quality players surround him it’s great to watch. I can’t wait to get home to see the magnitude of his first goal."

"I'm very happy for Xavi to be able to bow out like this, with titles and having had a very good season."

On the fans

"Our fans were a ten and, although there were less of them [than the Athletic fans], they helped us a lot."

On Athletic Club

"Athletic showed that they deserve to have won a title. But in recent years they’ve had the misfortune of having to face a very good Barça team."
