This Thursday, around midday, in the Club offices, Jordi Masip signed his contract that will keep him at FC Barcelona until the end of the 2016/17 season. The goalkeeper will have a buyout clause of 35 million euros, as was announced on the 20th of May. He'll wear number 25 on his shirt.

His career stats

Brought up through the Academy, Jordi Masip played at every youth level until 2008, when he made his debut for the U18’s A team. His first game with the Barça B team was in the 2009/10 season, against Valencia and his coach was Luis Enrique. During the 2012/13 season he was called up as reserve first team goalkeeper by Tito Vilanova due to the four game ban of Victor Valdes.

With Barça B he’s played 77 games in just over four seasons. His match stats are 32 wins, 20 draws, and 24 defeats.

He is a goalkeeper with lots of agility and great reflexes. He is very quick, really intuitive, and has great ability with the ball at his feet. Despite not being a very tall goalie, he is very safe in the air thanks to his great jumping ability. He was one of the key players for Eusebio Sacristán’s Barça B team.
