Jordi Alba spoke about the two upcoming finals / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

Jordi Alba appeared before the press on Thursday with the Spanish Cup Final just two days away. The Barça full back made reference to the atmosphere in the camp with the first of two finals that await the blaugranes coming up in the next few days. In just 10 days time the team face the second of those final, that of the Champions League against Juventus. Alba made it clear that the squad were only thinking about the game against Athletic: “The team is focused on Saturday’s game, really motivated and it would be a shame to be distracted y the next game.”

The local born defender avoided talking about who is the favourite in both finals, saying “these days any side can make life difficult for you.” What he had no problem in talking about was the venue for Saturday’s final. “It is always nice to play at your home ground. We know the stadium and not being in the home dressing room is not a problem,” he explained. He went on to add: “We want to win and for the stadium to enjoy the party.” With the two finals coming up the Barça number 18 pointed out “not winning the treble would not be a failure.”

Below, we highlight some of Jordi Alba’s other comments to the press:

“The fans will be 50-50 but it is always better to be playing at your home ground. I am certain the fans will be behind us, whoever it is.”

“We want to win the treble and we are confident that we can do it, but not winning the treble would not be a failure because it will not be easy at all.”

“The players are the ones who play and we know how difficult it is to win three trophies. Let nobody think it is easy.”

“Athletic and Juventus are two different sides but they are in the finals on merit. They will be difficult to beat.”

“I think this has been my most complete season. When the team is playing well, the players get more confident and everything helps.”
