Seven years at Barça

Oier Olazábal (14/09/1989) came to FC Barcelona in 2007/08 from his hometown club of Real Unión de Irún. A promising young goalkeeper, he was soon the first choice stopper for the reserves in the season that they won promotion out of the Third Division.

After playing for Barça B under Pep Guardiola, and then Luis Enrique followed by Eusebio, the Basque keeper made his first team debut in the cup against Alcoyano in 2007/08. He ended up being promoted full-time to the first team, where he provided backup to Victor Valdés and José Manuel Pinto. Oier made two official appearances, one in the cup and the other in the league.
