[[DES_1]]The first edition of the most eagerly awaited fixture of the Liga season, the Clásico against Real Madrid, will be played on the weekend of October 25/26, as determined by the draw held today noon at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas, in Madrid. As chance would have it, the last weekend in October was also the time of the first meeting between the two rivals last season, although this time the venue is different.

After two seasons in which the Camp Nou has hosted the opening Clásico of the Liga season, this time FC Barcelona will be at home for the return leg on March 21-22.

Before and after

The game with Madrid will be Barça’s ninth of the season. On the weekend immediately before the trip to the Bernabeu, they will have played their first ever top flight fixture against newly promoted Eibar. And the game the week after will be against Celta Vigo, the side that Luis Enrique managed last season. Both of those games will be played at the Camp Nou.

Luis Enrique: 22 league clásicos

October 25-26 marks Luis Enrique’s first clásico as manager, but he is by no means a newcomer to the experience, which he has witnessed from both sides of the fence. As a player he appeared in no fewer than 22 league encounters between the historic rivals, 13 in a Barça shirt and 9 with Real Madrid.
