One of Barça’s declared objectives at the start of the season was to get to this point of the campaign with options in all three competitions and Luis Enrique’s side face the month of March with their hopes very much intact – ahead after first leg wins in their Champions League tie against Manchester City and the Spanish Cup semi-final with Villarreal and with leaders Real Madrid due at the Camp Nou, still challenging for La Liga.

Two second legs

Barça will play five games between 5 March and 22 March - over half as many as in January, when they played eight– with all of them looking like crunch matches. On Wednesday 4 March, the team travel to Villarreal for the second leg of the Spanish Cup semi-final, following the 3-1 win in the first leg, with the visit of Manchester City a couple of weeks later on 18 March, as Luis Enrique’s men aim to book a place in the quarter finals following the 1-2 win in England

Madrid visit Camp Nou

Barça will also have three league games to deal with Rayo on 8 March and Eibar on 14 March before the big one – Real Madrid’s visit to the Camp Nou on 22 March at 9.00 pm CET.
