FC Barcelona's 8–0 victory in Cordoba on Saturday equals the team's largest margin of victory in the league away from home, tying results from the 1959/60 season at Las Palmas and the 2010/11 at Almería. Martínez, Suarez (3), Evaristo (2), Villaverde, and Gensana scored at Las Palmas while Messi (3), Iniesta, Acasiete (own goal), Bojan, and Pedro (2) did so at Almería. In both seasons Barçawon the league championship.

The goals on Saturday were scored by Suárez (3), Messi (2), Rakitic, Piqué, and Neymar. Messi scored his 40th league goal of the season, his 51st overall this year.

Barça also broke the 100-goal barrier in La Liga — they currently have 105 — and have only conceded 19, with three games still to play. Luis Enrique's squad have scored 60 at Camp Nou and 65 on the road.
