Following the open door training session at the Miniestadi that was attended by 11,134 people, the Barça first team players have made their traditional visit to see injured and sick children in various hospitals and facilities around Barcelona. The first team squad’s aim, as every year, was to bring a little sunshine and smiles to the children in question.

The visits each year form part of the FC Barcelona Foundation’s ‘A dream for a gift’ campaign. Sportsmen, directors and Foundation board members all play their part in the project that this year saw Leo Messi absent after missing the morning training session with a stomach bug that confined him to home. Rafinha also missed the training session and the subsequent trip to the hospitals with an ear infection.

The Barça representatives were divided into several groups and headed off to the eight chosen destinations. There, the children were waiting for the opportunity to see their heroes up close and ask for an autograph. The players used the time during the journey to sign photographs that were gifted to the children along with other Club merchandising products.
