Barça saw out 2014 with a 5-0 win over Córdoba at the Camp Nou and when it was all over, Andrés Iniesta was the guest on Barça TV’s post-match show ‘El Marcador’. “Objective achieved” he said with a smile. “It was very positive to end the year with a win, especially at home. We need three points from every game.”

“The team is on an upward spiral and getting better in every aspect of our game” he continued. “In the second phase of the season we’ll be trying to get to our peak because we have had time to get into our rhythm ... We are now going to recharge our batteries and come back fresh and ready for our next challenges.” All going well, this team’s good work will end up bringing us trophies

Those challenges involve big games in all three major competitions, and looking ahead to 2015, Iniesta has said that “I hope we can enjoy good football. That’s what will bring us titles. All going well, this team’s good work will end up bringing us trophies.” On a more personal level, he added that “I have felt important to the team and club for a long time. Right now, I’m just training hard and playing to help the team.”
