Allegri in the press conference on Monday / UEFA.COM

Just like Barça, Juventus are preparing for the Champions League final which will take place in Berlin on Saturday. On Monday the coaches and players from La Vecchia Signora took part in an Open Media Day in Turin. “We won’t need to put in a great performance but rather we need to be compact to cancel out the quality of the Barça players,” revealed coach Massimiliano Allegri, who also showed himself to be wary of the quality of Messi and Neymar. “We will have to be better than against Madrid,” added the Juventus boss.

The players from the Serie A champions were also well aware of the danger posed by FC Barcelona’s attacking threat. Striker Fernando Llorente commented that “taking the ball from Barça is very difficult” and we will have to defend perfectly.” Fellow striker Álvaro Morata, a former Real Madrid player, admitted that playing against Barça was an extra motivating factor but also warned, “winning will not be easy.”

The final in the balance

Defender Giorgio Chiellini thinks the game in Berlin on Saturday is “50-50”. “We are a team that is defensive because that is the culture in Italian football and we are up against the most attacking team in the world,” added the Italian international. Goalkeeper and Juve legend Gianluigi Buffon also gave his opinion: “Getting to the final is a source of great joy but we are up against the worst possible rivals that we could meet, given that in the last three months they have been in extraordinary form.”
