Clásico and much more in store for October

The month ahead will include FC Barcelona's first ever game with Eibar, the clásico in Madrid and the probable debut of Luis Suárez

There’s a lot to look forward to in October, starting with the trip to Rayo Vallecano on Saturday at 6.00 PM CET, where leaders Barça will be looking to complete their longest ever start to a Liga season without conceding a goal.

After that, there’s an international break, followed by the first game at the Camp Nou for three weeks. That match will see the first ever visit by newly promoted Eibar, whose debut top flight season is surpassing expectations. The Basques are currently eighth in the table.

Three days later the Camp Nou welcomes back Ajax for the second season in a row. Following the 3-2 defeat in Paris, it is vital that Barcelona get their Champions League campaign back on the right track against the Dutch champions.

Just 96 hours after that comes the biggie. It’s the trip to the Santiago Bernabéu to face Real Madrid, with the added attraction that Luis Suárez, who will have served his suspension by then, will be available for selection for his first game for Barça.

To end the month Barça and Espanyol will meet on October 29 in the Catalan Super Cup match in Girona.
