City lose at Anfield (2-1)

Barça's Champions League rivals suffered their second defeat in a week when Liverpool beat them 2-1 on Sunday City are five points behind leaders Chelsea who have a game in hand

After losing 1-2 to Barça in midweek, Manchester City went down 2-1 to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday in the Premier League – a result that leaves them five points off leaders Chelsea, who have played a game less.

Two great goals from The Reds

A brilliant tenth minute opener from Jordan Henderson gave Liverpool the lead, but City fought back and after Aguero had hit the woodwork, Dzeko gratefully accepted an assist from the Argentinean to draw the teams level on 25 minutes.

City pegged their hosts back after the break, but Brendan Rodgers young side stunned City with another excellent goal, with Coutinho firing home from distance in front of an ecstatic Kop and set Pellegrini another headache before their trip to the Camp Nou on March 18th.
