Messi equalling the all-time Champions League goalscoring record grabbed all the headlines in Amsterdam. Here's a look at some of the other stories behind Wednesday night's stats.

- Messi’s two goals against Ajax equalled Raúl’s all-time Champions League record of 71.


- Barça had twice as many shots as Ajax. The Dutch had seven (one on target and one hit the woodwork), while Barça had 14, eight of which were on target.


- Barça got three yellow cards, all in the first half.


- After four games, Barça are through to the second round with two more games in hand. Paris Saint-Germain also secured qualification by beating Apoel.
