Dani Alves during the interview with fcbarcelona.cat

Dani Alves missed the game in Paris against PSG because of suspension, but he is available again for the return leg at the Camp Nou on Tuesday and in an exclusive interview he talks about how the team have to approach the game, insisting: “it’s an important advantage we’re taking into the match, but it’s not decisive and certainly not definitive”.

Alves reckons that Barça showed in the first leg that “we want to fight to win this competition. We showed our usual character and personality and we were prepared to take risks – that’s the only way we will achieve what we are aiming for in the Champions League”

The Brazilian reckons: “we have to focus on the players who are available and not on those who are missing. Verratti missed the first leg and he is the playmaker for them”, whilst admitting that Thiago Silva and David Luiz: “are two world class players and if they aren’t playing, it’s bound to have an effect”. The spirit of the team is to fight for every ball and play every game as if it were our last

Dani Alves insisted: “we won’t be sitting back on the lead, because we don’t know how to play like that. Our philosophy and the spirit of the team is to fight for every ball and play every game as if it were our last. We can’t think about our lead, we need to control the game and look to score from the off, that’s the only way we will beat PSG”
