[[DES_1] After Barça got their cup quarter final off to a winning start at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, a clearly satisfied Andrés Iniesta commented that “we are very happy to have won a game against a very difficult opponent. 1-0 was a fair result and we’re happy with it. Not letting in any goals was huge, but that doesn’t guarantee anything. There is still the return leg to play and we’ll have to try to get things right.”

“Atlético are always hard to play against” he continued. “They do things very well and don’t allow many chances. But we played well, created danger and looked to outnumber them in the right parts of the field”.

He concluded by saying that “I always like to think that the best has yet to come and there is a long season left for us to do things well”.

Iniesta was not the only player to speak to the press after beating Atlético Madrid:

Ivan Rakitic

“It is very important not to concede any goals. We had some chances in the first half … We want to play well in Madrid and, of course, qualify for the semi-finals”.

“It is always important to win because that gives you an advantage for the second leg. But there are still 90 minutes to go and we’ll go to Madrid in a positive mood”.

“I congratulate the team for what they achieved. It isn’t easy to beat Atlético Madrid twice, we know that from last year. I also congratulate Atlético for a very good game. These games are a bit slow but the important thing is that we got a good result”.

“It’s still wide open. It’s a long road to the semi-finals and we have to be ready for the return match”.

“Now we need to turn to the game with Elche. We want to keep going on like this, although there are things we need to improve”.

“Luis Suárez is a very important player. The goals will come. His work has been very positive and he’s a vital player for us”.

Ter Stegen

“I am happy with the fans for their support and with my team-mates for working so hard. The boss is using me at the moment for Cup and Champions League matches, but I’d like to play Liga games too. I want to play in the league, but Bravo is doing very well”.

“I have played with my feet since I was a kid. That’s why I don’t find it in the slightest bit strange to fit into the way Barça play. I’m used to it”
