2015 will kick off in busy fashion for Luis Enrique’s Barça side with six confirmed fixtures for the opening month of the calendar year, which could be extended to nine matches should they make it to the last eight of the Spanish Cup and their league game against Villarreal is played on Saturday the 31st. Three of the confirmed fixtures are against the same opponents, Elche.

Four league matches

The first game of the year will come in the league against Real Sociedad away from home in the Anoeta stadium on Sunday the 4th of January at 9.00pm (CET). A week later, also at 9.00pm (CET), Barça will take on Atlético Madrid in their 18th league game of the season at Camp Nou. The blaugranes last league game of the first half of the season comes at the Riazor against Deportivo La Coruña on Sunday the 18th at 7.00pm (CET). The opening game of the second half of the league season comes against Elche on Saturday the 24th at 6.00pm (CET).

Four possible games in the Cup

To the four matches in the league we can add a possible four games in the Spanish Cup. Two fixtures in the competition are already confirmed, the last 16 matches against Elche. The first leg will take place on the 8th of January at 10.00pm (CET) at Camp Nou with the return clash coming at the Martínez Valero on Thursday the 15th, also at 10.00pm (CET). Should Barça make it through to the quarter-finals then there will be a tough tie awaiting for them against either Real Madrid or Atlético Madrid.

A possible 9th game

There could be a ninth game during the month of January. The 21st league fixture of the season will be against Villarreal on Saturday the 31st of January or Sunday the 1st of February. At the moment the kick off times for that weekend have yet to be confirmed but if the sides do meet on Saturday then that will add another game to January’s total.
